You list good items at fair prices and nothing moves. It's one of the most frustrating things about selling on eBay, and it's tempting to blame the platform, the fees, or "the algorithm." But the most common reason your items aren't selling is boring, and it's fixable: buyers never see them in the first place.
For most categories, demand is still there. If an item genuinely isn't selling anywhere at any price, that's a sourcing problem. But far more often, the item would sell fine, it just isn't showing up when buyers search. A listing that gets no views can't sell, no matter how good the deal is.
Cassini is eBay's search engine. It decides which listings show up, and in what order, for a given search. It ranks mostly on two things you control: your title keywords and your item specifics. If your title doesn't contain the words buyers actually type, and your specifics are half empty, Cassini doesn't think you're relevant, so you get buried on page 8 where nobody looks.
They matter, but in this order: first get seen (titles + specifics), then worry about converting the view into a sale (price, photos, description). Dropping your price on a listing nobody can find does nothing.
Open eBay in a private window, search the way a buyer would for one of your slow items, and see where you rank. If you're nowhere, it's a findability problem, and your title is the first thing to fix.
Lustre Optimizer is a Chrome extension that rewrites your title, item specifics and description for Cassini, right inside your eBay listing. First 3 are free, no card.
